Alexander Technique: a way of learning how you can get rid of harmful tension in your body. The Alexander Technique is a method that works to change (movement) habits in our everyday activities. It is a simple and practical method for improving ease and freedom of movement, balance, support and coordination. The technique teaches the use of the appropriate amount of effort for a particular activity, giving you more energy for all your activities. It is not a series of treatments or exercises, but rather a reeducation of the mind and body. The Alexander Technique is a method which helps a person discover a new balance in the body by releasing unnecessary tension. It can be applied to sitting, lying down, standing, walking, lifting, and other daily activities.

Bio Energetic Synchronization Technique (B.E.S.T.): a physical yet non-forceful, energy-balancing procedure used by the hands to reestablish the full healing potential of the body using its natural healing abilities. B.E.S.T. removes the interference and/or distractions that are demanding the attention of the healing power; thereby causing the imbalance in the autonomic nervous system and ultimately leading to disease. The Basic or Face-down procedure is a portion of the B.E.S.T. system designed to be studied as an entry level to the technique. This procedure is based on scientific principles utilizing pressure points to effectively allow the patient's body to update physiological function based on current need rather than past experience. By first stabilizing the Parasympathetic nervous system and then balancing the Sympathetic nervous system with it, total body balance with lasting updated muscle memory patterns is possible. When muscles are effectively balanced, including the intrinsic muscles of the spine, vertebral subluxations are repositioned naturally and with virtually no force. This method of reducing subluxation is both painless and effective, since the body's own muscles do the work. By taking this approach, updated cerebellar messages communicate with the affected muscle-spindle/golgi tendon to balance spinal muscle tone. The physical procedure is administered in the prone position, utilizing the Prone Leg Check, palpating the spinal muscles, and lightly holding pressure points along the spine.

Chi Machine: the Q2 Energy Water System transfers negative hydrogen ions in a bio-organic form to your body, through water. B.E.F.E. (Bio-Electric Field Enhancement) is the basis for the Q2 Water Energy System. It is the latest in home-based systems developed by Q-Tech Laboratories as an aid for relaxation and well-being. The Q2 is based upon a new quantum resonance theory called Q-Mechanics that alters an external source of artificial energy into an energy format that is similar in nature and compatibility to that of a body. The Q2 machine is a small device that is sunk into a water tub to 'excite' the water molecules. When a body is submerged into this water, the water inside the body's cells get excited by being in proximity with the water outside the cell. This feeds the cell with useful energy. A fully energized cell can now heal itself, multiply, and function better. The generation and absorption of this 'bio-charge' has been shown to increase the potential voltage in a body's cell membranes, which enhances the immune system and helps to maintain cellular function, while at the same time, assists in the elimination of bacterial, viral, and fungal infections.

Ecobiotics: formerly Higher Octave Healing but now known as EcoBiotics. They present a profoundly new view of human health called EcoBiotics. This views the human body as a dynamic ecological system - a complex web of living relationships whose interplay determines the balance between health and illness. Some of these ecological relationships are well known including the familiar "friendly" bacteria that live symbiotically in our intestines and elsewhere around the body. Awareness of other, more ubtle relationships, is slowly entering the consciousness of mainstream biology.

Energy Medicine: the practice of energy medicine is based in a particular paradigm which one must understand in order to see the value of this approach. It is a fact that there is a flow of electricity (that is, a flow of electrons) through and over the surface of all living organisms. Acupuncture is based on this fact. The lines of electron flow around the body are termed "meridians" and it is the strategic insertion of tiny needles (or the application of pressure in the case of acupressure) into points along these meridians which is thought to account for the effects of this technique. These points are charge sinks where electrons flow out of the interior of the body to spread out over the surface. It is believed that illness is caused by disturbed flow of electrons. The various instruments which are used in energy medicine are designed to intercept this disturbed flow and return it to a pattern more consistent with health. The result of treatment with these devices is very dependent on the skill of the doctor applying them. Practitioners of energy medicine disciplines believe strongly that it is the medicine of the future and that it will largely replace drug oriented medicine.

Essential Oils: an essential oil is a liquid that is generally distilled (most frequently by steam or water) from the leaves, stems, flowers, bark, roots, or other elements of a plant. Essential oils, contrary to the use of the word "oil" are not really oily-feeling at all. Most essential oils are clear, but some oils such as patchouli, orange and lemongrass are amber or yellow in color. Essential oils contain the true essence of the plant it was derived from. Essential oils are highly concentrated and a little goes a long way. The chemical composition and aroma of essential oils can provide valuable psychological and physical therapeutic benefits. These benefits are usually achieved through methods including inhalation and application of the diluted oil to the skin.

Flower Essences: used to treat a very large range of dis-ease and ailments. There are a several ranges of flower essences to draw on such as Bach, Australian bush and Alaskan. In the 1930s, Dr. Edward Bach developed an approach to healing using "flower essences." Flower essences are made by infusing flowers or other plant parts in spring water and then adding alcohol as a preservative. The essences are used internally or topically to balance emotional states. The underlying philosophy focuses on stabilizing emotions in order to dissipate illness and stimulate internal healing processes.

Homeopathic: an alternative method of treatment, based on the nature's Law of Cure, namely 'Like Cures Like'. The truth of this law was discovered by a German scientist Dr.Samuel Hahnemann in 1796, and has been verified experimentally and clinically for 200 years. Homoeopathy is the revolutionary, natural medical science. Homoeopathy is gentle and effective system of medicine. The remedies are prepared from natural substances to precise standards and work by stimulating the body's own healing power.

Isopathic Terrain Therapy: in 1916, innovative researcher Dr. Gunther Enderlein began to study remedies that stimulate the bodies ability to heal itself. While studying the bacterium that causes typhus, Enderlein observed something remarkable. Looking at the blood of an infected patient through a special microscope, he watched a tiny structure - one that would normally be invisible, even with the microscope - as it coupled to a typhus bacterium. To Enderlein’s surprise, following the coupling, the bacterium instantly vanished. Over the next 10 years, Enderlein was able to map the life processes of these special structures and showed how they balance the body’s inner terrain by breaking down potentially disease causing microbes. Building on the work of other leading biologists of the time, Enderlein was able to develop a class of remedy that stimulates the body’s ability to produce these natural healing agents. Since these remedies control harmful growth within their own species, he coined the term isopathic (iso = same, path = pathogen).

Naturopath: a practitioner who applies natural therapy. Their spectrum comprises far more than fasting, nutrition, water, and exercise. It includes approved natural healing practices such as Homeopathy, Acupuncture, and Herbal Medicine, as well as the use of modern methods like Bio-Resonance, Ozone-Therapy, and Colon Hydrotherapy. At a time when modern technology, environmental pollution, poor diet, and stress play an enormous role in the degradation of health, a Naturopath's ability to apply natural methods of healing is of considerable importance. By using natural therapies he or she is able to treat both acute and chronic ailments successfully. Frequently, a Naturopath is the last resort in a patient's long search for health. Providing personalised care to each patient, the practitioner sees man as a holistic unity of body, mind, and spirit. Using a range of alternative methods of diagnosis, a practitioner can often successfully pin-point a predisposition in the body, before the onset of acute disease, and treat the patient with specific therapies and changes in the patient's living habits.

Neuromuscular Approach to the TMJ: the science of using the relaxed position of the muscles of the head and neck to place the jaw in the optimal physiologic position for comfort and function. Over thirty years of research and clinical experience has shown this technique to be highly effective in treating patients with various levels of head and neck pain. It is also used in finding the optimal jaw position before restorative dentistry and greatly increases the longevity of the restorations. Neuromuscular dentistry has brought an entirely new level of predictability to the treatment of head and neck disorders through the utilization of objective, scientific, measurable data that serves as the foundation for diagnosis and treatment. older treatment philosophies and approaches, which pre-date modern high-speed computing power, relied heavily on subjective methods and assessments. Modern neuromuscular dentistry approaches utilize sophisticated computerized diagnostics and bio-electronic instrumentation, to record and interpret joint sounds, muscle activity, and jaw movements, all in real time. Sonography, Electromyography EMG, Computerized Mandibular Scanning CMS, and Trans-Cutaneous Neural Stimulation TENS are all used to diagnose and treat TMJ/TMD problems. These newer approaches allow us to find the most relaxed physiologic position for the jaw and determine the best bite for comfort and aesthetics. To correct TMJ/TMD and to guard against further damage, the jaw is supported in a proper, muscularly balanced position, determined with advanced computer analysis. In most cases, this can be done without surgery or braces.

Pulsing: a therapy technique using transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation. This specific therapy is for the treatment and resolution of pain related to neurological and myofacial conditions. It delivers treatment by delivering a mild electronic impulse through the nerves that control the masticatory and facial muscles. The rhythmic pulsing relaxes the muscles and therefore allows the doctor to determine the correct relation of the mandible to the cranium. It also relieves pain and trismus of the muscles of the face caused by spasms and tension. In addition, it propels the mandible through space to a position, which is most compatible with a relaxed musculature.

Scenar: a healing device originally designed for astronauts. In the early phases of the Cosmonaut program Russian scientists were grappling with the very real scenario of a health crisis in space. In that weightless environment, surgical procedures can not be performed. Because of the confined areas of the space capsules and weight restrictions of the booster rockets, medicines and other health devices could not be taken along at the expense of oxygen, food, and waste disposal equipment. Large, heavy medical devices obviously could not be accommodated. Pharmaceuticals were totally impractical as well since they are designed to be so specific that a large pharmacy of many medications would be needed to cover even a few medical conditions. In addition, due to the limited supplies of potable water, all waste water must be recycled, which would concentrate medications into the drinking water and consequently treat all the personnel whether necessary or not. The program produced the Scenar device, or Self-Controlled Energetic Neuro-Adaptive Regulator. This device was kept as a highly classified military secret until the 1990s after Perestroika (the establishment of Gorbachev’s policies of economic, political, and social restructuring and the breakup of the Soviet Union into its constituent republics). At that time the inventors received patents for the device and it was made available to western countries. The Scenar received approval of the USSR Medical Council (Russia’s FDA) in 1986 and was widely used in Russian hospitals. Many research papers have been published on its effectiveness. The inventors also received the Medal of Lenin (similar to a Nobel Prize) for it.

St. John’s Neuromuscular Therapy: a comprehensive program of soft tissue manipulation techniques that balance the central nervous system with the structure and the form of the musculo-skeletal system. It is based on neurological law that explains how the central nervous system maintains homeostatic balance. These same laws dictate how the central nervous system initiates & perpetuates pain response and controls the musculoskeletal system. In short the body can refer pain far away from the root cause of the pain. This many times results in the symptom of a problem being treated, rather than the underlying cause. We take a comprehensive look at your body, locate the root cause and solve this problem. It is an amazing way to return to health rather than trying to force a result.

Thermography: the use of an infrared imaging and measurement camera to "see" and "measure " thermal energy emitted from an object. Thermal, or infrared energy, is light that is not visible because its wavelength is too long to be detected by the human eye; it's the part of the electromagnetic spectrum that we perceive as heat. Unlike visible light, in the infrared world, everything with a temperature above absolute zero emits heat. Even very cold objects, like ice cubes, emit infrared. The higher the object's temperature, the greater the IR radiation emitted. Infrared allows us to see what our eyes cannot. This technology has numerous medical applications; one which is becoming more common is using thermography to screen for breast cancer.

Vega Test: a diagnosis system that is capable of use within the field of Bio-electronic Regulatory Medicine (BER Medicine). It originated from electro-acupuncture according to Voll (EAV), which is based on measuring evoked electrical conductivity by the application of an electrode which passes 0.87 volts in a positive polarity, direct current, into specific acupuncture points. The VEGAtest requires the patient to hold a hand-held electrode. Instead of using specific acupuncture points, one point at the end of a finger or toe is used and an ampoule derived from an organ in the body is used as the main diagnostic indicator. In EAV the so-called indicator drop is the cardinal electrical abnormality, in the VEGAtest the disorder control is the indicator of dysfunction. The Vega test device is capable of checking the energies of all parts of the body, which reflect their health or disease. It is also possible to check both food and environmental intolerances.
